When Should You Take Maternity Leave?

In fact, there is no best time to start leave. But, there are many factors, which force you to decide it. The start of the leave depends on mother’s energy, how easy or difficult the pregnancy turns out after the first and second trimester and the stress (both physical and mental) of the job.

A large number of females choose to take maternity leave between 32 to 36 weeks gestation. The earliest time to start leave is 11 weeks, before the due date. It’s somewhere between 7th and 8th month of pregnancy. Moreover, some women need more time with newborn. In that case, if you are having a normal pregnancy and you are healthy and fit, you can even work until a week before your due date.
