“Paternal Leave is a period of absence from work granted to a father after or shortly before the birth of his child”.

To What Extent Paternity Leave is Permitted?
In all provincial departments, similarly, in School Education Department too, paternity leave is permissible for 7 days. i.e 1 week. But, in case of any mishap, you may extend by submitting application to official authority.

Paternity Leave is Paid or Unpaid?
It’s your right to have paid leave. You’ll get your pay as usual, there will be no any kind of deduction. Therefore, feel tension free, there will be no financial problem at all.
Who will sanction Paternity Leave?
Amendment in this regard issued on 31-10-2012, clearly says that the sanction authority for maternity and paternity leave is immediate in-charge i.e Headmaster or Principal etc.
When Should You Take Paternity Leave?
You’ve 7 days to live with your wife. So, decide yourself, whether you want to take leave 1 or 2 days before delivery or after birth. In fact, we can’t decide it on behalf of you! It’s your decision. (In this regard, following joke may help you 😉 )
